2019 Inspirado, Red Wine

Aromas suggest a warm mélange of cherries, raspberries and plums alongside some toasty whole wheat and a touch of vanilla and some clove/nutmeg notes, hint of pipe tobacco. The entry offers those berry fruit flavors in a texture that seems to build across the mid palate. Fresh fruit acidity and tannin add structure to the juicy fruit flavors in the finish.

Harvested between Oct 3 and Oct 25, 2019, this fully ripe Bordeaux-style blend started out as Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon from Stags Leap District and Oakville, fermented separately and aged in French oak barrels (45% new), then blended to create this complex offering. The final blend of 85% Cabernet and 15% Merlot was bottled in March 2021.
