2022 Sauvignon Blanc
Another season of scant rainfall limited the amount of Sauvignon Blanc we were able to harvest, but the resulting wine again hits our very highest marks for quality. The aromas on this fresh, aromatic white are intense with citrus notes (lemongrass, grapefruit rind), floral notes (orange blossom and jasmine) and deeper tones of celery leaf and bergamot.
On the palate, the texture is broad and soft. The flavors immediately echo the aromas with citrus and floral tones, then deepen into tropical fruit and toasty vanilla tones before the lingering impression of fresh citrus slowly fades.
The grapes for this wine were harvested on August 15 and August 26, 2022, from two vineyard sites in Oakville and Pope Valley. The wine was barrel-fermented in a combination of French oak and stainless steel barrels, then left sur lie with weekly battonage for 4 months. A total of 378 cases were bottled on February 17, 2023.
